Guided Coues Deer Hunts

We are extremely passionate about hunting Coues deer and we are currently the largest, most successful, Coues deer outfitter in the world. A Coues deer (properly pronounced “cows”, after Elliot Coues) hunt is one of the most unique, fun, optics intense hunts to be found anywhere on earth. Right now, Coues deer hunting demand is the highest it has ever been for rifle or archery hunters. Tags are easy to come by and trophy quality is currently high throughout Coues range. We have hunts/ranches/areas that cater to all forms of hunting techniques.

We offer guided hunts for Coues deer in Arizona and on a number of private ranches throughout Sonora, Mexico. Coues country is unforgettable regardless of locale, and there’s just something special about glassing for these beautiful little deer from scenic vistas throughout their range.

We would love to show you around Coues country this year! Take a look at the Arizona and Sonora, Mexico options below, then contact us for more info!

Arizona Coues Deer Hunts

Arizona rifle Coues deer hunts take place in October, November and early December and tags are nearly guaranteed in the AZ draw. Our office can do your draw paperwork on your behalf. If you want to hunt Coues deer in Arizona during the last 3 weeks of December, known as the 4th season, those hunts qualify for our Zero Outfitter Fees program and you should register/book on that site. Our office will still handle your paperwork. Archery Coues hunts take place in Aug-Sept and again in Dec-Jan. Diamond Outfitters has many experienced, full-time Arizona Coues deer guides on staff that are familiar with all available seasons and units throughout the state. Chances are that your Arizona Coues deer hunt will involve glassing expansive tracts of land and your knowledgeable Coues deer guide will systematically glass areas that are known to have good populations and age class of deer. You’ll be amazed at just how many deer you and your guide will find while glassing Arizona’s Coues country! These deer are masters of concealment but the trained eye understands where and when to look to maximize your time in the field.

Arizona hunts can be booked for 5 or 7 days for both 1:1 or 2:1 hunters.

The Arizona Coues deer draw deadline is historically the second Tuesday in June. Our application service is designed to maximize your chances of having the hunt of your life and will apply you in the best units or, if you prefer to self-apply, will provide existing customers with the hunt numbers.
Let’s start making memories today!

Sonora, Mexico Coues Deer Hunts

In December, January and (sometimes February) our rifle and archery rut hunts in Sonora, MX provide incredible private land hunting success, amazing weather (compared to January in most US states), incredible culture and food, plus amazing scenery. We know some of you have safety concerns about hunting in Mexico and can tell you we have brought our friends and families, including our children, to Sonora over the past 15 seasons. Please don’t let CNN TV get in the way of your dreams. Sonora is far safer than Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore, New York, and other large US cities. We have successfully taken over 600 Coues deer hunters into Mexico (and back) over the years. Mexico Coues hunts are 5 days or if mule deer is included, 6-7 days. You will find it difficult to find better tasting venison or a prettier mount in your trophy room than that provided by the “grey ghost of the desert”.

Many of these private ranches have been in our own management and feed schedule for years and are not high-fenced. Older age class deer are available and trophy class can be significantly improved over Arizona hunts from year to year. Hunts are conducted via spot and stalk, high-rack, ground blind or tree stand depending on your preferences, weapon type, and physical conditioning. Sonora Coues hunts are designed as 2:1 so bring a friend or upgrade to 1:1. Sonora Coues camps offer combination hunts with mule deer or Desert Big Horn Sheep.
